Treasure Island Newsletter #11

All four performances of the Treasure Island musical were successful with enthusiastic cheers from the audiences, young to old!
Thank you to my 4th graders for your perseverance and hard work!
Thank you to my 5th grade and 8th grade assistants, thank you to parents and teachers for your help and support! And special thanks to Mr. Maxim Krikun for the beautiful guitar accompaniment.

It was amazing to watch the children grow from week to week, and then from one performance to another. We put in a lot of work, a lot of time and energy, and it all paid off! I am so very proud of all who participated!
And my heart was filled with joy when to saw how much the children were all happy and proud of their success.

But what you saw at the performance was only the tip of the iceberg. More importantly, the children have learned to focus, to cope with nervousness, to express with their eyes, face and body. They have learn how altogether they can work as a team, complementing each other to achieve greatness.

I am fortunate to have been studying under world class masters in arts and in meditation, and yearn to transmit the legacy to my students. My purpose will always be to help them grow artistically, emotionally and socially. And the great shows that result would just be the icing on the cake.

For those of you who would be interested, I am offering Summer Camps.  I like to work in relatively small groups so that I have the opportunity pay attention each and everyone.

The children will sing, dance, act, make costumes and props and especially develop their expressions and creativity. This time around, we'll work on The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, music by Rachel Portman.

The sessions start with movement warmup, voice warmup, then movement exploration, voice exploration, then working toward producing a short piece of performance.

I hope to have the wonderful opportunity to work with your lovely children again!

Love,
